Measurement Maths

This week we have been working on Measurement.We had to measure our maths group foot and head.The day after we had to make a graph to see whose head was the biggest or we could chose to do our groups feet. I liked doing the head measurement the best .Here is my slide of my groups head and feet.

Ngarino's Maths Term 4

Ngarino has been learning to tell the time. She can tell the time independently in o'clock and half past. 

Ngarino has also been learning to count on. She still needs to practise this as she forgets and tries to count all. 

Ngarino has been learning about fractions. She knows how to cut shapes into half and quarter. She can write the fraction in numbers and colour in 3/4's of a shape. 

We are so proud of her learning.

Time

We have been learning to tell the time.

Fractions - Maths

Ngarino has been learning about fractions with Miss Larsen. She can write a fraction using a picture and can colour a fraction correctly. She is learning the names of all the fractions especially 1/2 and 1/4.

        

Here is a video of Ngarino working out fractions by counting the parts and writing them in the right place. 

Maths Term 2.

Ngarino has been working on adding without counting. She likes to count from 1 to solve sums.

She has been learning to use these maths grids to practise her basic facts.

   

Maths 1-100 board

Ngarino is able to write the numbers 1 to 100 independently. She is able to follow the pattern to see which number comes next.

Duffy Certificate - Week 6.

Ngarino got a certificate at assembly for being a Maths Superstar. She is so focussed and on task with her maths. We are very proud of her progress and her independence. Tino Pai Ngarino!

Maths

Ngarino has been enjoying her Maths learning. She is working in a group and also works independently on Maths Buddy and Prototec basic facts on her I pad.

Here is a video of Ngarino using Maths Buddy. She uses the speaker tool to listen to the question.

Ngarino uses material to help her answer her Basic Facts questions on Prototec. She is working on adding and subtracting sums to 5. She is starting to recognise some sums and answer them without using her counters.

I am learning the difference between fast and slow. I need to practice running for fast and walking for slow around our school at playtime.
