Reading beginning of Term 4

Ngarino is now on Level 14 and reading fluently on known texts. She knows lots and lots of words. Here she is reading The Island Picnic. Her goal is to attempt to sound out words herself, even if she just uses the initial sound and picture clues.

Ngarino's Reading

Ngarino is reading at Level 12. She loves to read and has a very good memory for the words she reads. 

Reading time. Colouring in my bus purple, yellow and green. Wow my bus looks like a rainbow! Beep, beep.

Good work reward

I finished my spelling and reading and have chosen to draw a house with the window pens.  Can you see my windows and door, roof, smoke from the chimney and the sun?  Do you see my stick house I also made today?

Shared class reading

We are learning about punctuation marks in our shared class story The Big Surprise.

Reading

This is my daily timetable.  The red arrow shows me which activity I am to do.  I like having a predictable routine. It helps me know what to do.

I read my book every day at reading time.
